Genealogy Research

Unfortunately, due to numerous budget cuts, we do not have the staff to do detailed research for our patrons but we will be happy to show you how to use our resources - a learned skill that will serve the researcher far better in the long run. Below is a list of resources that may help you on your quest.

Ways to use our library for genealogical research:

  1. Websites
  2. Microfilm lists:
  3. Special Collections room - filled with books on area history and families, Native American and Civil War research cemetery, marriage and birth records.

Georgia Death Certificates - covering years 1928-1930, as well as 1919-1927. Go to the Georgia Archives website, then go to the Virtual Vault and search for Georgia Death Certifcates as well as the new category of "Georgia Non-Indexed Death Certificates."
